Design Tips for Choosing a Calm, Cool, Interior Color Palette

Choosing the perfect paint color for your new home can be one of the toughest decisions in your home buying process. Finding the right shade can feel overwhelming with so many available options. After all, your home should be your sanctuary—a place to retreat, relax, and truly feel at ease.

Shades of blue or green are known to have a relaxing effect—perfect for creating a serene feeling at home. Everyone has their own preference on relaxing colors, but soft, cooler colors seem to feel right for most. Light sages and light sky blues are often associated with spa-inspired rooms. There’s also some scientific research indicating that due to the short wavelengths of cooler colors and how our eyes perceive them, light greens and blues are the most relaxing to our eyes.

Here's a list of some of our favorite relaxing colors by one of our favorite local paint companies... Benjamin Moore.

An opalescent, muted white with warm undertones.
